Portable Rechargeable Battery Systems
The U.S. Commercial Service is cohosting a webinar with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Colombia to identify U.S. suppliers of Portable Rechargeable Battery Systems that can be implemented to support the USAID Energy for Peace (E4P) program.
Energy for Peace is a USAID program that aims to provide reliable, low-cost, and sustainable renewable energy from solar mini-grids to increase productivity, production, and revenue in rural off-grid communities in Colombia with significant productive clusters.
Showcase Summary
Selected participants will share a virtual presentation of their portable rechargeable battery systems with Colombian government authorities such as officials of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the Institute of Planning and Promotion of Energy Solutions for Off-Grid Areas (IPSE), and the Land Renewal Agency (ART); rural energy distributors; USAID Colombia contractors, and USAID’s Colombia project management team.
Six (6) portable rechargeable battery systems suppliers will be showcased from those that express interest. The selected companies will present their products to the above audience through a 20-minute live Internet-Conference Call connection from their office or home.
Suppliers will be chosen based on the ability of their systems to be transported over rural roads to address productive, agricultural, and household energy needs, bill the client based on KWh used, then recharged at the centralized solar mini-grid. The product needs to be of U.S. origin or contain at least 51% U.S. content.
The cost to participate is $50, a small fraction of the cost of traveling to Colombia to introduce your product.
Note: * No fee will be applied for application. Only the selected companies will pay the registration fee.
