About the Event

Every year, U.S. exhibitors face difficulties when taking their samples, demos, tools, and equipment to trade shows abroad. Many are not aware of simple temporary export tools that can save time, money, and trouble at customs. The U.S. Commercial Service is the export-promotion arm of the U.S. Department of Commerce and organizes USA Pavilions at various trade fairs in Mexico. We invite U.S. exhibitors to join this free webinar before their trip to learn how to move their equipment across the border smoothly and in compliance.

Event: Temporary Imports Tools for International Exhibitors

Delivery/Time: January 28, 2026, 11ET / 10CT / 9MT / 8PT

The U.S. Commercial Service invites U.S. companies planning to exhibit at trade shows in Mexico in 2026 to join this webinar. The session is designed for both first-time and experienced exhibitors and will explain how to temporarily export samples, demos, tools, and equipment using the right export tools. Learn how to move your trade show materials across the border efficiently, avoid delays, and stay in compliance.

Even small errors when exporting goods for trade shows can cause delays, extra costs, or the loss of equipment. To reduce these risks, participants in international trade events, field service companies, and anyone needing to temporarily export goods should consider using an ATA Carnet, an internationally recognized customs document that will be explained in this webinar. Our experts will also outline the basic steps you must follow if you plan to sell any of your exhibition products and export them afterward.

The webinar is open to all U.S. companies interested in exhibiting at trade shows in Mexico in 2026. Participants will:

  • - Learn about temporary import methods
  • - Hear about industry trends and upcoming trade shows
  • - Gain practical tips to ease the export of samples and demos
  • - Learn how to avoid delays at customs

Kiel Ursin

Carnet Specialist, ATA Carnet

Kiel Ursin is a Carnet Specialist, Customer Service and Sales Representative. Kiel was born in Lake Zurich, IL, and has been with the company for over three years. His favorite part of the job is, “The variety of clientele we work with, and the fast pace. Also, the satisfaction of knowing you helped someone who was panicked about time frame, etc., as a large majority of first-time carnet users are!”

In his time away from work, you may find Kiel painting, drawing, or creating mixed-media art.  He also enjoys fumbling around with a guitar or banjo. He chose “Thank You” by Led Zeppelin as his first dance wedding song. Walking, and otherwise spoiling his dog, take up the remainder of his spare time. Green is his color choice and lamb chops, or rack of lamb are among his favorite foods. The title at the top of his book recommendations is A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers.
