Hosted by the White House Initiative on HBCUs, International Affairs Cluster as part of The National HBCU Week Conference with Howard University Ralph J. Bunche International Affairs Center
Workshop Overview:
Join us for an insightful workshop where representatives from U.S. Federal Government Agencies will discuss the range of resources and opportunities available to HBCUs, with a focus on:
- Opportunities for students, educators, scholars, and artists to participate in study, teaching, research, and internship programs abroad
- Strategies for the recruitment of international students, faculty, and scholars
- Building capacity for staff and faculty who support study abroad
- Establishing and maximizing international partnerships
Workshop Purpose:
- To champion campus internationalization at HBCUs
- To highlight best practices and success stories from HBCU grantees
- To strengthen collaborations between HBCUs and U.S. Federal Government Agencies

Cluster Value Statement: To provide resources and support to HBCUs to assist them with their campus internationalization and global awareness and engagement efforts. This includes providing USG-funded opportunities for HBCUs students, faculty, and administrators to venture abroad and for HBCUs to host international citizens. We are also promoting both short-term and long-term federal internationally-related internships, employment, and career opportunities.
