General Information

As part of the Global Diversity Export Initiative (GDEI) to empower diverse exporters, we are launching the inaugural Exporting Home Virtual Connection Program (VCP) focused on Latin America and the Hispanic diaspora community in the United States, scheduled for September 23-26, 2024, during Hispanic Heritage Month.

DID YOU KNOW? 

  • Hispanic American Employer Firms accounted for over $472 billion in revenues and nearly 3 million jobs in 2020.
  • In 2007, trade with twenty Latin American countries accounted for 81.1 percent of the total export value ($9.5 billion) generated by U.S. Hispanic-owned exporting firms; the corresponding percentage for nonminority-owned exporting firms was 15.1 percent.
  • In 2020, Hispanic Employer Firms by industry sectors were in the Construction, Accommodation and food services, professional, scientific, and technical services, healthcare and social assistance, Administrative and support and waste management and remediation services, and Retail trade. 


The Exporting Home Virtual Connection Program: Latin America will enable the Hispanic diaspora business community in the United States to schedule a week’s worth of meetings with potential partners across Latin America targeting best prospect industries in these markets.

Quickly build a network of reliable contacts throughout the region!

  • Leverages the leadership of the U.S. Hispanic Diaspora, utilizing cultural, linguistic, and business ties to do business in Latin America.
  • Engage in a week’s worth of 40-minute one-on-one meetings with pre-screened, in-country potential buyers and distributors from across the Latin American region.  Virtual meetings will take place through the InEvent platform.
  • Engage with U.S. Commercial Service and Minority Business Development Agency representatives from the U.S. Department of Commerce.

CONNECT WITH: 

  • Potential business partners, buyers, distributors, and foreign government officials in Latin America. 
  • Meet with U.S. Commercial Service Specialsits and Commercial Diplomats
  • Matchmaking meetings will take place during span of a week. 

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE? 

This program leverages our network and the power of the Diaspora network to help all U.S. businesses - including U.S. Hispanic-led enterprises - succeed in the region. 


WHAT IS THE COST TO PARTICIPATE? 

$350 for U.S. companies. 

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER? 

U.S. companies must register by August 30, 2024.
