It rose to a ranking of 22nd out of 153 countries in the World Economic Forum’s 2020 Global Gender Gap Index, up from 40th out of 149 countries in 2018. The local Chambers of Commerce have been also working to support gender equity advances and a higher representation of women in public institutions and businesses.
  • Colombia’s total trade with the U.S. amounted to $33 billion in 2022. The U.S. is Colombia's first business partner with a market share of 25% in total trade.

Lisa White

Commercial Attache @ U.S. Embassy Bogota

Lisa White joined the Foreign Commercial Service (FCS) in 2020 and is currently Commercial Attaché at U.S. Embassy Bogota. She manages FCS services to assist U.S. businesses develop their export sales in Colombia and SelectUSA for Colombian investments in the United States. Her prior posting was at the U.S. Export Assistance Center in Seattle where she advised Washington businesses on how to grow international sales and developed special programs to accelerate women-owned businesses. Lisa has more than 15 years of combined federal service with experience at three previous agencies. Previous roles include the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) where she worked as an Economic Development Specialist and Public Information Officer, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) where she worked as an Immigration Services Officer, and the U.S. Peace Corps where she worked as a Regional Recruiter. Prior to that, she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Guinea and Mali in West Africa where she supported small business development and developed French proficiency. Lisa graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a BS in Business Administration with a focus on marketing and communications.

Norcia Ward-Marin

Norcia Ward joined the U.S. Commercial Service in Bogota, Colombia, in February 2011 as a Trade Promotion Clerk contractor. In September 2012 she was hired as a permanent Commercial Clerk and was promoted to Commercial Assistant in November 2014. In March 2023, she was promoted to Commercial Specialist. In her present job, she is responsible for the oil & gas, energy, environmental technologies, renewable energy, mining equipment, cosmetics, and travel and tourism industries. Additionally, she conducts market research and performs matchmaking services for CS Bogota’s clients. She has been recognized for outstanding performance with several awards, including the Bronze Medal Award for Superior Federal Service. Norcia Ward was born on the Colombian island of Providence, located in the Caribbean Sea. She has a degree in Economics and Foreign Trade with a specialization in Marketing and a Master's in International Business. Norcia speaks fluent Spanish and English.

Gizette Lemus

Eva Salazar has been the Sales and Marketing Manager of Atlas Specialty Lighting for twenty-six years. Eva has developed and leveraged her knowledge and experience in sales, promotion, and advertising while developing a high-performing sales team.She has extensive experience in International Markets, including South and Center America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. Her recent activities include obtaining two new distributions, ISOLUX, which offers xenon light sources with headlights, and the complete line of Burton surgical lights products.

Since 2003, Eva has been the General Director for Atlas Specialty Lighting branch office in Mexico, which has realized nineteen consecutive years of increased sales growth. Eva has overseen leading the entire operations of this branch, including sales & marketing.
